Red House BBQ in Tehachapi

Excelent, Amazing place, incredible nice environment. We ordered a "1/2 Feast"... good price, quality and more than enough for two.

This is a wonderful restaurant near downtown Tehachapi. The barbecue is very good and the atmosphere is very entertaining with lots of things to look at while you dine. There is good beer on tap or in bottles and cans featuring various different craft breweries. Definitely worth the stop if you're passing through. I would imagine that the locals love it as well.

Pit beef, Cajun garlic shrimp, fried pickles and hush puppies. This tasty plate brought be back to my visits to Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and South Carolina. So much flavor, so tender and juicy, so much yum! I'll be coming back to sample more of the menu!

Food was fantastic! Will definitley be coming back. Daughter loved the macaroni and cheese.

Very neat and welcoming place. They serve large meals and for economical prices. We liked the menu a lot and the staff members were super welcoming and chatty. Recommended.

Awesome as always. This place is the only reason why we drive to Vegas. Ribs were on point. Honey Bourbon sauce was awesome. My friend had the Crazy Mac and Cheesy potato soup, said both were really tasty. Worth the 300 mile drive.

Probably last customer on sunday. Out of pulled pork. Sweet potato fries were scorched in oil too hot, soggy inside. Bbq beef was tasty. Large portion. Slaw was good.

The food here is very delicious. Though the wait in line is long, I would say it's worth it. I had brisket, and it was nicely prepared and the seasoning was perfect. It was worth the wait.

Redhouse is a guilty pleasure and a favorite. I love their fried pickles, pulled pork, BBQ sauces, beer selection, sweet tea and atmosphere. Everyone is lovely as well. We make sure to invite friends and family along for the Family Feast special.

I travel and eat bbq all over socal.This place wasToo expensive for the little you get. Wish I could add a picture of how small the ribs were. Good potatos fries though.

You will not find equal or better bbq in a 500 mile radius. Owner supportive of our military and Native Americans. Interesting side dishes like fried buffalo cauliflower, fried pickles, and superb mac n cheese.

Service was great, very friendly. You order and pay in line at counter and then food is brought to your table.We had pork ribs and beef ribs. Sweet potato fries, hush puppies, fried okra and cauliflower. Everything was delicious!

Best BBQ at great prices. Sandwiches come with one side dish, plates come with two side dishes. If your into the great outdoors you'll love it's interior of painted scenes of mountains and forest, a rock water fall, plus animals and birds along upper walls. Yes, the building is red. Can't miss is it! Due to the customers privacy and the crowd I was not able to photo all the interior.

This restaurant has quite the reputation, and great pulled chicken, ribs and sides. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our order to go. It was really tasty. The only improvement that was needed was to take a couple of containers with their bbq sauce and some plastic utensils that I'm guessing was over by the straw I found. But then it was our first time there!

Amazing BBQ. As soon as I entered the building I knew I was in for a treat. My olfactory senses were delighted by the unique artifacts of authentic smoked ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Expecting greatness, I experienced excellence. The only negative is I live 4 hours north.

Fantastic place, love the decor, prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality coming out of that kitchen. What more could you ask for? I've brought people from all across the country to try this food and they all absolutely love it.

This spot is worth a try. They have large portions for fair rates. Regularly well kept and with excellent mood. Highly recommended.

Just walking in you get mesmerized by the amazing smoked smell! We have been here twice and tried different things. We drove 2 hours to eat here.Liked:Tritip,Brisket,Chicken, corn dog (sweet and juicy), vegetarian beans, elote minus all the cheese ( there was way too much) red slaw was just ok and the fried cauliflower just ok also. Beef ribs tasted good BUT, too dry and not enough meat.Disliked:Fried Mac n cheese (fried in corn meal, I think, but would taste better with bread crumbs, was too dry.Can't wait to try more things!

Best BBQ in town. We come here every time we visit family. Unfortunately we could not eat here this visit as they were still getting the used to the whole social distancing thing, and we did not feel comfortable waiting in a long line inside the restaurant. I am sure they will fix that soon, and we can enjoy their great food next time!

very hard to find a nice moist pulled chicken BBQ sandwich. Most places and we have pork or beef. Not this place. The coleslaw is fantastic. The the pot of beans are delicious. good foodie City next to an artificial 12 foot tall waterfall makes his one great place to eat

Delicious! Everything is good! I had the catfish and hush puppies. OMG Best West of Alabama. My partner had beef sandwich and the barbecue was amazing! And the Fry Bread! Get the Fry Bread!

We love hanging out. Last night we came to this excellent place which friends told us about. We had a beautiful evening there with superb dishes and a well-trained stuff and an impressive cuisine. We added this venue in our list and we will surely return soon. We deeply recommend.

A beautiful young woman greated us, and a charming young man offered us a sample when he found out we were first time visitors. I had never seen a couple of the sides offered and the lady at the register helped me pick two sides for my plate that were perfect. The pit beef was excellent. The price seemed high at first, but considering the quality and impressive portion I'd say it was perfectly priced. Great service, great food, unique and interesting decor. Lastly they were doing my USMC colors so that's an extra 🌟 by itself..

The Red House BBQ, open it's doors in 2010 in the city of Tahacpi, CA. They smoke meat daily and offer catfish, Chicken and several sausages, including Kielbasa and Hotlinks. BBQ fixings include, corn on the cob, sweet potatoes fried, unbelievably good beans Ribs are sold in half rack to full rack. The create your own two meat combo is the best value. When you're finish. Sign the wall, let others know you were at Red House.

Excellent if not the best bbq ribs I've ever had. Prepared right in a big wood smoker. Rack of ribs was perfectly smoked, tender but not too tender, just right on flavor. So good it didn't need sauce but tried them anyway. Sauces on the table were a little sweet for my liking.Sides, Macaroni with Cheese and Red Slaw - both good. Lots of cheddar on the mac and the red slaw had just the right amount of vinegar mixed in - cabbage was still crisp.Great place!

Yummy food ! Never old always new ! Lunch time is my favorite! Great place for family to sit down and eat together create memories!

During covid have patience with the stuff, really busy but the wait is worth it. The food is delicious.

Good food. Its nice to support the ma and pa places. It's more money than fast food, but better food and your helping the locals.

Great barbecue joint. A good selection of beer. Portions were perfect. Dinner for two cost $50 with one beer. Ambiance is comfortable with a lot of nice vintage decor. The process of ordering food here is the only drawback and I could see how a crowd would magnify things, but the quality of food offsets this IMO, and I stand by my 5 star rating.

Been there a few times, never satisfied with my food. Went to order brisket and a half chicken only to be told neither of those items were available, I settled for tri-tip and pit beef. The tri-tip was sorta cold just barely warm and pretty dry, the pit beef was sorta flavorless and dry, requiring a pretty big dose of BBQ sauce to eat. Mac and cheese was good, chilli was not good. The chilli had a gritty texture to it and it was scalding when i received it. By the time it was cool enough to eat there was a thick layer of oil pooled on top of it. Had a catfish po boy once which was alright. Sweet potato fries were alright kinda burnt flavor to them. Hot links were nothing special, just buy em from Costco. Please somebody, open another bbq restaurant in tehachapi for the love of God.

One word.... delicious! First time coming here and loved everything. Employees are very nice and everything was delicious. I saw some one star reviews but I didn't have any of those issues during my visit. The service was good in the morning, and wait time was decent. Overall I definitely recommend stopping by and eating here.

Some of the best bbq I've had and not expensive

Best ribs I ever had!! Pulled pork was mouth watering. . . . pictures of the menu/prices needs updating, but still a great price for the amounts of food. We had leftovers for the trip home.

I had the four rib special which came with your choice of two sides. I picked the chili beans and coleslaw. The ribs were excellent. They had a great rub and the smokiness was wonderful. I definitely will be coming back.

Just moved to Tehachapi from Kansas and I love BBQ. I went for the Tri Tip plate on my first visit. The meat was tender and tasty without sauce. The hot sauce is sweet and hot, like I like it. I can check off “find a good bbq place” off the list!

Bring your appetite! This place serves hearty portions. Order at the counter and have your dish served moments later. Beef, chicken, seafood and pork are among their offerings. I had beef ribs which were fairly lean and tasty. Three choices of BBQ sauce: house, hot & spicy and sweet & smokey. I preferred the spicy. However, one of them should satisfy your tastebuds. Hubby had the spicy links (beef) sandwich which was heavily topped with fresh diced tomatoes & onions and served on a whole grain bun. Michelle was terrific and exceptionally helpful, good knowledge of their extensive menu, welcoming personality and friendly smile.

This place is fantastic. The meatloaf is superb. The atmosphere is very casual, the service is friendly and fast, not overpriced, menu is simple, and the food is fantastic. Will return and will recommend.
